- 1H 1S bid made* ?
-
- Since the 1S overcall shows as little as OPC 8,
- it is necessary for the defensive responder to
- define the supporting bid carefully.
-
- The following bids show at least 3 card support
- 3NT(4S) RPC: 18 or more
- 2H RPC: 15-17 (cue bid in opponent's suit)
- 3H RPC: 12-14 (cue bid in opponent's suit)
- 3S RPC: 8 or less, preemptive bid, less than 1 QT,
- 4 or more spades, not strong defensively.
- Used if right hand opponent bids.
- 2S RPC: 8-11
-
- Similar situation exists when the opener bids 1C or
- 1D, and when the first defensive player bids 1H
- rather than 1S.
-
- *Obviously some of the bids may not be available
- depending on how high the offense bids, but their
- meanings remain the same.
